InnoIkusasalakho KwaMakhutha Festival
in partnership with Care Enough and UKZN
On the 15th of November 2024 we empowered 120 learners from Umkhumbi High School and Kwa-Makhutha High School, in partnership with InnoIkusasaLakho and UKZN.
Msizi Dimba invited us to join him in empowering the young poeple from his community of KwaMakhutha. We jumped at the opportunity to help and empower young people.
Prof Blessings Karumbidza gave a powerful lecture on black history and young people taking charge of their lives. He hit it on the nail and kept the learners very engaged.
Dr. Siya Nzimande motivated the learners and informed them about opportunities and support that is available for young people.
Our registered professional dietitian, Nokukhanya Mncwabe, educated the learners and Gogos about healthy eating, the benefits and easy ways to eat healthily.
We donated two boxes of sanitary pads to two schools, for them to issue at their schools in cases where a learner starts their periods at school. This way, a learner doesn't have to go home and miss school.
We appreciated the Gogos who do an excellent job, loving, supporting and raising their grandchildren. In turn they performed for us, showing us how to exercise using dance music.
It was a fantastic day.
